GOD HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR

The strange and funny thing about New Yorkers … is New Yorkers.
There’s a sister I know from Brooklyn who has a very stereotypical personality of a New Yorker – funny, boisterous, volatile. We attend church services together and she doesn’t live that far away from me, so when she asks for help, I can typically accommodate, especially when it’s tech related. Honestly, it’s always a mini-adventure spending time with her as I don’t quite know where things will lead. I often joke that we’re the classic ‘odd couple’ and today was no exception.

Incidentally, I did ask her permission to share this story.

I received a somewhat panicked phone call today from this sister – she couldn’t find her emails. We sat outside in her car and had a virtual ‘Abbott and Costello’ conversation about her phone, passwords, emails and technology as a whole. She’s not an ignorant person, just not gifted in this area and she had me laughing the whole time. These are the moments I must decide how much information I should actually share vs fixing the problem. For instance, one may consider their engine an eyesore, yet removing it is a very bad idea if you’d still prefer 4-wheel transportation. Everything works in concert together – same premise applies to her cellphone. Once done we ran a few errands – and yes, driving together is also interesting as I typically opt for following NYS driver laws. 😀

Did You Know God Loves to Showcase His Mercy?

How would we live our lives if we truly understood that our purpose is to love Him and to love His reflection in our neighbors? The truth is we are chosen, loved, welcomed, counted holy and blameless because of what Christ accomplished on the cross for us. Jesus said “It is finished” (John 19:30) and He alone paid the price for us to be received by His Father in eternity.

Crack-Pipe Biden Policy vs Biblical Health and Wellness

Honestly, I’ve grown weary of the palpable weaponization of poverty and homelessness in our country. It’s a cudgel wielded by political parties living far away from the consequences of their poor planning and enflamed passions of ‘useful idiots’. It takes everything I have at times to pray for our leaders - especially when they use racism as a main tool in their divisive rhetoric.
