Ladies, please allow me to share this audio file with you of PROVERBS 31. I’ve been thinking of this all week long and I truly pray THIS IS AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO YOU — AND ENCOURAGEMENT FOR ME TOO. JUST REMEMBER, IN THESE VERSES, GOD SAYS HE VALUES US FAR ABOVE RUBIES!
This world will tell you that you are unworthy. That you are lacking the family heritage or the qualifications to allow your spirit to flourish. This is not so with our Lord Jesus Christ! What the world devalues, our Lord values exponentially. And why? Indeed to display HIS glory in all things, and to bestow mercy and grace where HE alone chooses to do so.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe healthy marriages are the foundation to any flourishing society and I’m in no way minimizing or chastising marriage or the need for children and families. I’m simply advocating for realism in our Christian literature and daily devotionals targeted towards women – especially as it relates to the relationship between Christ as the bridegroom and the church as the bride. It's like the Easter Bunny to Christ’s Resurrection or Santa Clause to the Birth of Christ - and it's the exact reason I prefer Oswald Chambers over others like Max Lucado.
Friends, I truly desire my writings to be uplifting and encouraging – but in doing so I cannot ignore political issues – especially in these days and living in Upstate NY (NY-21). So kindly allow me a little leeway (decompressing from the Biden Presidential State of the Union) before we jump into scripture.
The Bible says My King is a seven-way King: He’s the King of the Jews; He’s the King of Israel; He’s the King of Righteousness; He’s the King of the Ages; He’s the King of Heaven; He’s the King of Glory; He’s the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
