Iranian Political Analyst: Assassinations Will Continue Because Officials Ignore Safety Instructions

In a May 22, 2022 interview on Al-Araby TV (Qatar), Iranian political analyst Emad Abshenas, editor-in-chief of Iran Diplomatic, discussed the same-day assassination of IRGC Qods Force Colonel Hassan Sayyad Khodayari in Tehran, which he attributed to Israel. Abshenas said that such assassinations will continue to take place because the war between Israel and Iran is ongoing. In addition, he said that one of the main reasons for such assassinations is that Iranian scientists and military and IRGC officials ignore the warnings and security instructions of Iran’s security agencies. He explained that this had been the case with Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a senior Iranian nuclear scientists who was assassinated in 2020.

Book Release Press Conference: The CCP is at War with America [Video]

The Center for Security Policy has just released a new “Team B” product – an exercise in competitive analysis that strongly challenges the Director of National Intelligence’s September 2021 conclusion that the provenance of the SARS-CoV-2 virus cannot be determined. The Team, co-chaired by former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoekstra and former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Lieutenant General William “Jerry” Boykin, U.S. Army (Ret.) and comprised of intelligence professionals, other national security practitioners and subject matter experts, concluded that: - There is no evidence that the virus emerged naturally;- There is, by contrast, significant circumstantial evidence that it came from a PRC biological weapons laboratory; and- The virus was deliberately unleashed on the world by the Chinese Communist Party when it allowed millions of travelers from Wuhan to fly internationally, even as it was locking down movement within China. The authors, identified collectively as Team B III (in the tradition of the official group that produced the first Team B exercise in competitive analysis in 1976 and a second one sponsored by the Center for Security Policy in 2010 entitled, Sharia: The Threat to America), call their report: The CCP is at War with America. Acclaimed China expert Gordon G. Chang wrote the Foreword. The book can be purchased here:https://ccpatwar.com/

Hizbullah Senior Official: U.S. Is Our #1 Enemy; Its Arrogance Has Endangered World’s Food Supply [Video]

Hashem Safieddine, the head of Hizbullah’s Executive Council, said in an August 4, 2022 address that was aired on Al-Manar TV (Hizbullah-Lebanon) that America is Hizbullah’s “number one enemy” and that it is striving to destroy humanity under the guise of “civilization, progress, and human rights.” He said that America’s “arrogance” regarding Russia and China have resulted in a threat to the world’s food supply, and he claimed that Lebanon has foiled many American plots on its soil. In addition, he said that the “resistance axis” would have easily finished off Israel were it not for the protection the U.S. provides it with. Chinese FM Spokeswoman Hua Chunying on Pelosi’s Taiwan Visit: The U.S. Is Approaching Our Red Line [Video]

In a statement posted to the CCTV Video News Agency YouTube channel on August 2, 2022, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying spoke about U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. Hua warned the United States that it should bear full responsibility for its “provocative” actions that have led to an escalation of tensions across the Taiwan Straits, and she said that these actions are proof of America’s “hegemonic mentality” and “gangster logic.” She said that the U.S. must continue to abide by the One-China Principle in accordance with its foreign policy promises and that it must stop supporting Taiwanese “secessionists” and provoking China. In addition, she warned that the U.S. has been “closing in” on China’s “red line,” and that it would be legitimate for China to take any countermeasures it sees fit.

Finding a Path Through Quagmire: Humanitarian Access and Coordination in the Sahel [Video]

In the Sahel states of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, a nearly decade-long insurgency undermines regional security and continues to cause widespread humanitarian need. Despite significant international support, the Sahel crisis continues to intensify leaving 15 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. Response capabilities are limited by state-level instabilities which have worsened civilian access to essential services, restricted humanitarian access, and undermined the capabilities of long-standing strategic military partnerships. The Sahel has also become an experimental arena for the implementation of the ‘Triple Nexus’ approach to address humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding needs simultaneously. As a theoretical framework, this approach has inspired optimism for offering new solutions to old challenges by enhancing sectoral collaboration. Yet, implementation in the Sahel has been challenged by the complexity of the security situation and a disconnect between the ambitions of the triple nexus concept and the operational environment for humanitarian actors. Please join the CSIS Humanitarian Agenda, and the CSIS Africa Program for the launch of the report, Finding a Path Through Quagmire - Humanitarian Access and Coordination in the Sahel. The event will be introduced by Jacob Kurtzer, Director and Senior Fellow of the CSIS Humanitarian Agenda, and moderated by Mvemba Phezo Dizolele, Director and Senior Fellow of the CSIS Africa Program. The panel discussion will reflect on the challenges to and opportunities for improving humanitarian outcomes in the Sahel.---------------------------------------------A nonpartisan institution, CSIS is the top national security think tank in the world.
